Most jobsites end up coordinating six vendors: one for the boxes, one for the haul, one for the water, one for the toilets, one for the wash out, one for the crew. Mat Tech bundles the whole jobsite under one contract, so your team coordinates one vendor and reconciles one invoice.

Equipment, or equipment and crew

Take the equipment on its own, or add the crew to run it. Most of what we do is available either way, on one contract and one account.

We do not own disposal

That is deliberate. Owning a landfill would give us a reason to route your stream somewhere that suits us rather than somewhere that suits the stream. We source the right compliant facility, and we look for recycling that lowers your cost.

Harlan Bergen

Chief Executive Officer

Leads Mat Tech as Chief Executive Officer, bringing more than 30 years of leadership across industrial and environmental services, energy and infrastructure. Since joining in 2025 he has rebuilt the senior team and led the Hook Set acquisition, which roughly doubled the company. Previously Chief Operating Officer of Sage Energy Holdings, which he helped sell, and 15 years at Kinder Morgan, rising to Senior Vice President.

James Walsh

Chief Financial Officer

Runs finance, capital and reporting. Previously Chief Financial Officer of Commando Pressure Control and Vice President of Finance at Summit Spine & Joint Centers, both private-equity backed, after starting his career in accounting and transaction advisory at BDO.

Phil D'Avanzo

Vice President, Strategic Development

Leads strategic development at Mat Tech and spearheads its mergers and acquisitions, guiding business owners through every stage of a sale. Brings more than 15 years of leadership across industrial services, construction and recycling. Previously led the sale of Wall Recycling's scrap metal division to Foss Recycling, named 2024 Corporate/Strategic Deal of the Year by The M&A Advisor, and served as CEO of E. Luke Greene Co.

Mitch Flury

Director of Operations

Runs day-to-day operations across the yards: dispatch, fleet, equipment and safety. Came up through the field, from crew leader on oilfield jobs and pump technician at Xylem Godwin to operations manager at Ironclad Environmental Solutions, where he ran a fleet and more than 40 people. Believes everyone should go home the way they came to work.

Ronnie Young

Director of Sales

Leads sales and works the customer list directly. Brings more than 18 years in environmental services, industrial waste and fuels, including Vice President of Fuels at Altiras, Vice President of Sourcing at Base Distributing and Sales Manager at ReWorld Environmental. Has also owned and run an environmental services business, and holds a Class A CDL with hazmat and tanker endorsements.

Safety is a prequalification requirement before it is anything else. Mat Tech maintains active memberships and current registrations so your procurement team can clear us without a scramble.
