Decontamination

Proof of last containment, and why we will not skip it

· 3 min read

No piece of equipment enters our decontamination process without a manifest, bill of lading or SDS describing what it last held. No exceptions, including for our own equipment coming back from your site.

Why the rule is absolute

A wash bay is a mixing point. Whatever was in the last tank meets whatever is in this one, plus the crew standing over it. If nobody can say what the previous contents were, the crew is working blind and the effluent is uncharacterized. One unknown contaminates the record for everything that follows it through.

What it costs you

About one phone call. The document usually already exists — it travelled with the load. The friction is almost always that nobody thought to forward it, not that it does not exist.

What you get back

Equipment cleaned to a verified standard, with a cleanliness certificate issued before it returns to service and filed against the unit. When your auditor asks what was in that tank before your product went in it, there is an answer.
